THE CURTIS GUEST HOUSE

in the heart of the seaside village of Ocean Park, ME

Closed and reopening for the 2025 season June 20 to September 20.

The Curtis Guest House was built in 1882 in the American Shingle Style and has been a handsome and prominent feature of the Ocean Park square for 140 years. Its continued existence lends historic authenticity to our Ocean Park community at a time when we have lost many of the original buildings and cottages from the Victorian era. Curtis guests shop and eat at Ocean Park businesses and attend OPA programs, adding much lively support to the community.

The Curtis Guest House is located in the heart of the seaside village of Ocean Park, Maine. Ocean Park is a Chautauqua style community offering non-denominational Sunday services in the historic 1881 Temple, as well as concerts, lectures, and other cultural events throughout the summer season.

The Educational Bureau of Ocean Park has managed and maintained the Curtis (and the adjoining 4 bedroom Blake Cottage) since acquiring the property in 1887! The Curtis sits on the town square, two blocks from the beach, and within steps to shops, the soda fountain, library, shuffleboard, and tennis courts. It offers a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere. Wide front porches furnished with rocking chairs catch the sea breeze and offer a view of the Memorial Library and Furber Park across the street. At the end of your stay, you will leave looking forward to your next Ocean Park visit. Read more...
