THE BLAKE COTTAGE

The Blake was the second property acquired by the Educational Bureau. Originally located to the east of the Curtis, the property was purchased to serve as a store and restaurant.

When the building was remodeled in 1915, the upper half was moved to West Grand Avenue and became simply the Blake Cottage. The lower half of the building remained in place and became the Ocean Park Restaurant and Bakery, owned by the Ed Bureau until 1977, when it was deeded to the Ocean Park Association and torn down. Jakeman Hall was built on the site in 1978 and is now the home of the Visitor's Center, the Association administrative office, and the Ocean Park Realty office.

Today the Blake is a summer rental cottage, located just 2 blocks from the beach. It has four bedrooms and 1 ½ baths. The rate for 2026 will be $$2250.00  plus the 9% tax and is usually fully occupied for the ten week summer season.
